Urgent: Reserves and parks not enough to protect nature – David Attenborough

A hero of mine – David Attenborough. Take heed for your sake and that of your children and grand-children.

GR:  As the human population and impact grows, wildlife is declining worldwide just as in the U.K. The National Wildlife Federation Backyard Wildlife Habitat program covers basic ideas.  Start there.  Then, look for opportunities to recommend other sites.  As Attenborough says, many other places that we modify and use can be habitat.

  1. Thank you for sharing this. We jokingly call our yard a nature preserve because we leave it more or less wild. And with a few amenities for birds and wildife (birdseed and suet feeders, birdbath, and a salt lick), it provides a habitat for animals and plants. In the process, it brings my family much joy and entertainment (mainly in the form of squirrel and bird antics).
