Bibliophile’s Collective Tuesday – Poetry at Work Day

Today is Poetry at Work Day, I have to say I don’t ever remember this being something my old work place celebrated let alone encouraged. However, for those of you still working, lighten the mood and enjoy a poem, or two. Maybe bring a poetry book to work and share some, either a reading at lunchtime, or just print off a few for your colleagues.

I wrote this poem when we acquired two kittens for the office, after my boss, a huge mountain of a man screamed at the sight of a little baby mouse LOL. He made me buy farm kitten to ensure they were mousers.

Kittens

Black fur bundles

Soft to the touch

Tiny playful paws

Needle sharp teeth

Ears a twitching

Green eyes glinting

Light coloured pads

Black noses sniffing

Jump and roll

Claw and bite

Run and climb

Thick baby fur

Adult hair piercing

Capturing mice

Chasing tails

Stretching upwards

Landing feet first

Snuggled up

Purring warmth

Cute little faces

Slumbering peacefully
