April is National Literature and Poetry Month, as well as the 4th being National School Librarian Day and the 10th National Encourage a Young Writer Day. So April truly covers all things literary for readers and writers alike.
My writing group is holding a poem a day challenge, which is in fact the seventh year. An exciting propest for all poets, yound and older! Soif you have a poet in the family send over. https://www.wfscsherwoodpark.ca/our-blog/categories/april-2026 You can write one or more poems to the daily prompts and also be considered to be published in an anothology too.
It is imperative that we support our libraries, whether inside or outside school as the current book banning is harming so many children, authors and the expression of freedom to read, gaining knowledge and having our individuality reflected in narratives.
It has been proved that writing incerase brain function in all ages, but the most wonderful part of creating a story is making our imagery inner world a reality.
So enjoy this month of literary joys.
