Today is the last day for my lost words feature – I would like to thank Stephen at http://phrontistery.info/index.html for allowing me to utilize his wonderful site. It has been a learning curve and intriguing to see how many words are no longer used. Some you can understand have lost their relevance but others I think should come back!

I hope you enjoyed the lost words feature and that you will continue to enjoy the subjects for the remainder of the year.

My Monday features from now on will be random – unless someone has a particular topic that they wish me to cover for the remainder of 2016.

Twesome Loop 002

Wednesday‘s will cover reincarnation, life after death and other phenomena and possibly a dash of romance!-  As I will be editing and revising my time-slip romance, The Twesome Loop, which centers on several characters finding their reincarnated soul mates.

Saturday‘s will continue for the prompt contest’s – remember to post your response and then vote for your favorite – chances to win a prize every quarter.

And so to the last lost words:

Lost Words of a Writing Retreat…

This post was created prior to my escaping for four days on a writing retreat. As you can imagine the excitement was tangible for the weeks coming up to this event. It will be the fourth time I have joined other writing friends on such a retreat in the fabulous Strawberry Creek Lodge. Hidden away along a long track, shrouded by trees and with a creek babbling beside it, the large log cabin is perfect for inspiration, contemplation and for allowing the writing Muse to whisper unhindered.

I will be revising several ‘work in progress’ manuscripts – Life in Slake Patch, Willow Tree Tears and The Giving Thief. All are in different genres so my mind will be full of multiple characters all vying for attention.

With the most delicious meals cooked for us and several bottles of wine to consume, there is no better place to be.

This past weekend with the help of my wonderful girls, I managed to renew my old tired kitchen and transform it into a modern, refreshed space. There are a few finishing details – so the completed photo will be posted later this week.

Before work started – old tired ugly wood cupboards.

Primed cupboards – getting brighter and disguising the ugly!

My sentence: After years of novaturient, I succeeded, with the help of my girls, in operimenting my ugly old wooden kitchen cupboards. Even the albedineity of the primer made me happy. With only the weekend available to complete the project, impigrity was paramount to achieve the patration of a new look kitchen.

What projects have you undertaken in your home that had a time constraint?

And as promised the finished result…I used the colour from the lino accent colour and matched it for the cupboards!

I used these words to describe the conference:

Our solennial Writers Foundation of Strathcona County conference this year, centered around the basics of writing. Our noscible presenters, Barbie-Jo Smith, Judy Schultz, Janice MacDonald and Linda J Pedley shared their expertise on a diverse number of subjects. They also gave us several exercises to perform. These included a blateration and interfation exercise, where in groups of three – one person wrote on a particular subject while the other two talked on another subject across them. It was a lesson in patration and concentration.
Other techniques for casitive, hirquitalliency, and portmantologist gave the participants the opportunity to quaeritate their processes and redefine how they write. One such technique is a ipsographic exercise to ‘hear’ your words. This allows a writer to identify if the words relay their story as they propose. Each session ended with brabeum draws of books.
