I am feeling a little delicate today after an exhausting event yesterday, Heritage Day of Strathcona County. It was a super day filled with arts, culture, music, song and dance. There was also lots of vendors showcasing their cultures, organizations and groups giving visitors a new perspective of what incredible diversity we enjoy in Strathcona County. There were several stunning performances as well, some photos here. https://www.facebook.com/Arts-Culture-Council-of-Strathcona-County-ACCSC-123072124369824/ Without a doubt the Arts and Culture Council will host the event next year and hopefully in conjunction with the Diversity Committee once again.
This week is Board meeting week for me so Tuesday will be the Writers Foundation board meeting. We will be looking forward to and planning our annual event, Words in the Park on 30th September, which is part of Alberta Culture Days and will also be celebrating Canada 150 and the 10th anniversary of our event. A super milestone for us. http://wfscsherwoodpark.com/words-in-the-park
Wednesday is the board meeting of the Arts & Culture Council where we will review the Heritage Day event, and how we can expand it next year! Then there is Alberta Culture Days to plan, which we will co-host with the Writers Foundation. This collaboration has worked well in the past.
So it seems my life will be in planning mode once again…it keeps me out of mischief I suppose.
