lighthouseawardI want to thank Stacy at http://onegirlriot.com for kindly awarding me this Lighthouse Award and her kind words about my blog. There are a few rules so I’ll get right to it.

Display the award certificate on your blog.  Check
Inform your nominees of their award nominations.  Check
Share three ways that you like to help other people. Check
There is no limit to the number of people you can nominate. Check
Don’t forget to have fun!

How I like to help others:

1. To encourage writers to pursue their writing in any way that works for them. There is no ‘right or wrong’ method, just your own.

2. Share my writing journey and experiences with as many people as possible in the hope it will enlighten them. The main aim of my blog!

3. To be a true friend and follow through with my promises and commitments.

My nominees are:

http://wildhorse33.wordpress.com/  My mentor, dearest friend and huge encourager.

http://risingwoman.wordpress.com/  If you read this remarkable woman’s story you will understand that determination is her middle name.

http://www.kathiesutherland.com/  A place to refresh your mind and soul. Enjoying the stillness and centering yourself.

http://knitewrites.com/ Extremely informative blog that gives me inspiration.

Quotes:

Metaphysics is a dark ocean without shores or lighthouse, strewn with many a phlosphic wreck.  Immanuel Kant

For me, a writer should be more like a lighthouse keeper, just out there by himself. He shouldn’t get his ideas from other people all around him.  Robert M. Pirsig

FunDayToday’s prompt – create a poem or story with a lighthouse as the central character.

Succulent – Well Sweet to be Exact…

Succulent – definition: full of juice : juicy

I’ll stretch this word’s definition slightly today to fit with a blogging award I received from http://www.swatichavda.com/  The Super Sweet Award.

The Award Picture:

super-sweet-blogging-award1

So here are the rules:

I must thank the person who nominated me.

Thank you, Swati for your nomination and for following my blog.

I must answer six Super Sweet questions – see below.
I must include the Super Sweet Blogging Award pic in my blog post – done.
I must nominate a baker’s dozen of deserving bloggers see below.
I must notify my nominees on their blogs – done!

The questions:
Cookies or cake?  My preference would always be cake. (You get more!)
Chocolate or vanilla?  I’m not a big chocolate lover and everything goes with vanilla.
Favorite sweet treat?  Now I will contradict myself and say white chocolate but good Swiss white chocolate. English scones with strawberry jam and clotted cream. Anything with caramel.
devonshirecreamtea
Favorite memory of eating sweets: I over indulged at secondary (high) school with the tuck shop. Sitting on the lawn munching my way through was pretty good. At that time wagon wheels and sherbet dips were favorite. A friend introduced me to her Aunt’s homemade Gulab jamun, which were absolutely divine and addictive. My mother’s Lemon meringue pie and apple pie with cloves, reminds me of Sunday dinner.
When do you crave sweet things the most?  I don’t have much of a sweet tooth but just occasionally a craving hits me. There is no rhyme or reason when or why.
Super sweet nickname? Haven’t had a sweet nickname ever. Mostly plays on my names, Mandy and Eve. Although my husband calls me Blodwen!
And my nominations are:
