My First Interview

Home » Blog » My First Interview
I had an unexpected request recently from my publisher which filled me with trepidation – to be interviewed on an online arts show. It’s one thing to speak at my writers circle meetings or even at a coffee shop but in front of a camera? So then my mind began running through all the possible scenarios – would I be able to speak without looking like a jabbering idiot? Could I present my book, my publisher, my writing group with the dignity they deserved? How long would the interview be? What should I wear? Would I get a list of questions prior to the show or have to think on my feet – which incidentally brought me to the ‘nerves’ – oh did my stomach turn over and over! My publisher was gentle but insistent in her persuasion, confident I would be ‘great’. So I took the plunge and said yes. The interview was held in West Edmonton Mall on the full sized ship called the Santa Maria. Festive decor surrounding me I stood on the ‘poop’ deck with the show’s host, Bill Roberts. He had been kind enough to send me a list of what subjects he wanted to cover so I did have some idea what to expect. As the sound guy counted down my stomach did a flip and then we were rolling. Let me know how you think I did with my first interview. http://www.artstalkonline.com Episode 3 – about 8.26 on the time bar! I would like to say thank you to Bill and his crew for making me feel comfortable and also my publisher, Dream Write Publishing – for their persuasion!

Littlebursts – I was certainly not in my element – just so nervous that I would look like a complete idiot!! LOL But thank you it turned out better than I imagined.

You did a great job – see, I told you.

Thank you for writing that I was at least gentle in my persuasion lol

An author’s work is never done in the promotion of themselves and their work and you did “write” by appearing on this wonderful show.
