Wordsmith’s Collective Thursday – I Love to Write Day

Although, I've missed this celebratory day by nearly a week, it is still nice to think that we writers have our own day. You can visit the website for all the details.

As you would have seen from my Tuesday blog post, I have been lucky enough recently to talk about my writing and creative journey (I invite you to go and check them out). We come into this craft in a myriad of ways. Some as a passion forged in childhood, others later in life, and everything in-between.

However, as we find and travel our writing path, the focal point is our creativity and how we conceptualize an idea into something relatable and enjoyable for our readers. There are as many ways to achieve this as there are stars in the sky. No two writers will create a story the same way. I have found this to be most apparent when I host my local writers group. With a single prompt, every person in the room comes up with a different idea, viewpoint and story. In essence, we gather ideas from our life experience and also it is how our minds work.

This same writing group published two writing prompt books, where the group's members answered prompts. The differences are fun to read but also they are great books for anyone wanting to stretch those creative muscles. It is up to you if you read the responses first, or after you write your own after reading the initial prompt. You can find them here:
