As many of you know I use Goodreads to track the books I read and I participate in the annual Reading Challenge as well. However, there are many other book trackers you can use. Let’s look at a few.

Goodreads – This is easy to use and this year they have added Seasonal Challenges as well. You can edit the number of books you are reading at any point too. Of course, as with most algorithm sites Goodreads does use AI. (Sigh).

The StoryGraph is a reasonably new platform, which states that it will track your reading and choose your new book based on your trending genres and mood. It also gives you the option of live reactions to parts of a book. Unfortunately, it uses machine learning AI for book recommendations, but is not Amazon linked – so make your choice.

Basmo is an AI Chatbot, which not only tracks but will summarize or explain the books you are reading as well as keeping a reading journal and emotion notes.

Reading Journal. You can go old school and buy reading journals, or use a notebook to track your reading and write reviews. There are also Reading Tracker Bullet Journals too, which contain illustrations to add a creative touch.

**I did have a journal but unfortunately lost it in a house move 🙁 **

Excel spreadsheets are another option but are quite time consuming, although there are several you can download.

Instagram Story Reading Trackers, this is especially for bookstrammers who can save their reading goals and highlight them. There are numerous styles to download and use.

Book Blog. This is probably the ultimate in a reading tracker by having easy access your book reviews and other book content, whilst sharing it with like-minded readers.

Library Card Bookmarks are an easy option. It is always in the book you are currently reading, giving you instant access to write a review prior to beginning another book and knowing which books you have read at a glance.

So which system do you use (if at all)?

Has tracking your reading helped you identify a specific genre you are drawn to?
