I attended my second book fair on 12th September, this was after after Words in the Park on 5th - and incidently before I attend Word on the Street on 19th - it's a busy month!

Anyway, last weekend's event - Tales and Trinkets - included a panel of the attending authors answering questions, and as the Q&A was a lot of fun, I thought I would relay it here. You may find out some stuff about me you didn't know. (I'm far right clutching the microphone.) Thanks to Cathrine at Tales and Trinkets for the event and for the use of the panel Q&A.

1. Introduction time! This is your chance to say your name, share the title of your most recent release and one fun fact about yourself.  I'm a multi-genre, age group author, my newest novel is The Gviing Thief, a suspense, coming of age narrative. And I've lived on three continents.
2. When did you first consider yourself a writer? When I received a reaction to a story I shared in my writing group. That response propelled me into writing. After that it was holding my first published book.
3. Is there a genre you want to write in that you haven't yet, or a genre you probably would never write? As I have written multiple genres, it is hard to say, however spy & espionage do not hold any interest. But never say never!
4. Have you made any discoveries about yourself in your writing journey (that you feel comfortable sharing on stage)? That I can channel my ideas through free flow writing, while 'seeing' the world and characters I am creating like a movie in my head. And that I am passionate about this writing community and advocate when I can.
5. What is the most valuable piece of advice you've been given about navigating authorhood? To never stop practicing and learning, and finding and creating your voice.

6. What comes first for you typically; the title, the characters, the plot, or something else? It's a mixture of all of these to be honest. I utilize writing prompts a lot, whether images or text and go with the idea that pops into my head.
7. Do you think that you would get along with your main character(s) if you got to spend time with them in their world, or bring them into ours? I would love to dive into my novels and live with several of my characters. This is, of course, knowing what happens to them so I would not be in any danger.
8. Have you, or would you ever participate in a writing challenge such as NaNoWriMo or Novel November? Yes, I particpated in NaNoWriMo for many years and it helped me create the initial drafts of several of my novels. Having that deadline and word count made me write with gusto.
9. Where or how do you find inspiration on days where you find your creativity blocked? I don't get blocked - sorry everyone! However, when I need a break I walk in nature, read a book and have a cup of tea.
10. What are your least and most favourite parts about publishing? I am fortunate to have a couple of publishers that do the techy stuff - there is no way I could do it at all. Receiving a box of new books is always a thrill.
