One of the best things about attending book events is making connections. September has kept me busy with three major events - Words in the Park, Tales and Trinkets and Word on the Street. Each one was a chance to catch up and reconnect, with writing pals, but also to connect with new writers.

I really love increasing my personal writing community - the more the merrier as far as I'm concerned. The community is always ready to support, and encourage each other. We are not in competition with each other, and are happy to help, which is such a joy in a world that has a 'I'm better than you' attitude, sadly.

Conversations cover a multitude of writing related subjects, from finding out 'what's next' on our individual goal lists, to 'helping out' when we can. Being at an in-person strengthens familiar ties and gives us more in-depth understanding of where we are coming from with our experiences and knowledge of this amazing skill of making things up!

There is, of course, the added bonus of buying their books and getting them signed. I have dedicated shelves for all my author pal books and ensure I write a review for each one. This is only a few of the peopleI met this month and a couple of shots of me too 🙂
