Well this is a new one to me! We get a whole month of people being kind to us as writers and editors, how cool is that? It was the brainchild of Lone Star Publishing in 1984 to highlight the world of writing and editing to a wider audience. Many people do not realize that ‘we’ are constantly learning and perfecting our craft, and that many editors have a never ending ‘to be done’ list.

Obviously, we see that every single day and month nowadays has some sort of celebratory thing going on, but we can pick and choose. Just look at today’s list! National Cheese Pizza Day, International Day of Charity, National Be Late for Something Day, World Samosa Day.

However, I think we should embrace this celebration, after all we deserve it – right? So let’s embrace family, friends, colleagues, readers, and clients showing their appreciation this month.
