Where did the initial idea come from for the Silencers?
The initial idea for Silencers came from my personal battle with anxiety, which I have lived with for nearly two decades. It’s taken me a long time to process, work through, and heal from this affliction and find a way to tell my story in a metaphorical way that includes all those who suffer from any medical, mental, or disabling symptoms through any cause.
What central theme is evident in the narrative?
I think the central theme is acceptance, both of ourselves and of others. Everyone has a battle they are facing, that others might not see. Some people have issues with depression, others anger. Some have low self-esteem, some have mobility issues. We shouldn’t assume we know what another is dealing with, apply stigma to them, or judge them. Persecuting someone for any reason, is unacceptable. The struggles we think we are alone in, are shared by so many people.
What lessons can readers take from the story?
That it is okay to be different, because absolutely everyone is unique. Differences are a reason to be celebrated. The world thrives on creativity, innovation, and originality.
What, or who influenced the character’s personalities in Silencers?
The character of Scona is influenced by my students, who are passionate, compassionate, and head-strong. They will definitely change the world, though they are occasionally naive about society and their place in it.
Did you know it would be a series before starting the first book?
I’m still not sure it’s a series now! I think it will be, but I’m honestly not sure. My Reborn Marks series I knew would be a series from the beginning. With Scona’s tale, I’m not certain – and how the series will evolve if it does.
Do you plan the whole series before you begin writing?
I plan each novel before I begin writing, in terms of anchor points (beginning, middle, end) and then fill in the blanks.
Why do you enjoy writing YA fiction?
Who doesn’t love YA?! I get to write characters who have the ability to make a mark on the world, questioning the status quo, but who have limitations which they have to deal with. I get to challenge innocence and show characters evolving, learning, and adapting with each event that they muddle through.
You have written series before, what draws you to this particular sequence?
I like building a world (especially ones) to emphasize a point about our actual world. In this case, how we act towards those with mental illness in this society. I like series where more locations and characters can be introduced, while still following the journey of the initial protagonist.
How does the Silencers series differ from the Reborn Marks & Imagine series?
The Imagine series is true fantasy, with magic and creatures. Silencers is similar to our own world, with many recognizable facets, with a few twists to make it different, which is quite similar to the Reborn Marks series.

Reviews
“The writing is solid and definitely directed toward the younger set, but that is yet another reason why the book works well. If authors can conjure books that attract youngsters to read, then we must bow to them in thanks. Reading Jenna Greene results in that old urge to sit on a park bench and just gaze and chat about all the possible variations of ‘world’ there are/can be!” _ Grady Harp, Top 100 Amazon Reviewer
“Yet it’s the evolution of Lexil as she showcases a well-rounded and thrilling journey of a young woman surviving after escaping enslavement to becoming a leader and heroine who must risk everything she has fought for in order to save others. This novel cements her heroic journey and highlights the shifting landscape of this dystopian world that blends realism with sci-fi and fantasy elements. Anthony Avina, Book Sirens Reviewer
“The stakes are raised, it’s a life-or-death gamble. The odds? Surely not in their favor. Our characters find themselves in a gruesome and Jenna Greene does not shy away from showing it. Bound by the author’s narrative, as the author resumes the story without funfair, while giving us precious content, reflections, thoughts and a grim reality of what it’s like to be considered less than a living being. In “Restore” by Jenna Greene good intentions do not count, and practicality isn’t always possible. There are many swift thriller scenes that will grip your attention for four or five pages as they run from either retrievers, prisons, camps and fires they provoked one way or the other. Restore by Jenna Greene is a worthy continuation from the previous book Renew, and an interesting stepping stone to the final book of the Reborn Marks Series to which the epilogue hints to. We are eager to read the next book as there’s still much more for us to discover.” The Avid Reader
