Bibliophile’s Collective Tuesday – Jolabokaflod

Home » Blog » Bibliophile’s Collective Tuesday – Jolabokaflod

So today we celebrate Jolabokaflod, which is Iceland’s Yule Book Flood. The name translates to “Christmas Book Flood.” The tradition is the giving and receiving of new books, but also the joy of reading them together all day on Christmas Day and drinking hot cocoa.

As readers this is the essence of a perfect day. As most of us request books for gifts, it is the culmination of wish lists and hints to family and friends over the past few weeks.

Now, we can snuggle down and immerse ourselves in stories as our meals digest, we snack on delicious goodies and cherish reading time.

To one and all – have a wonderful celebration no matter which special day it is for you.

Once you have finished reading, please remember to give the author a short review after reading, that is the best gift you can give them!
