Wordsmith’s Collective Thursday – Hello to May -Reading and Writing

A new month is upon us, the year is rushing by and we have so much to accomplish. It is interesting that this month has several literary celebrations – Get Caught Reading Month, Mystery Month, National Share a Story Month and Latino Book Month.

The first one is easily achievable for any reader, writer. For the mystery, I, for one, am looking forward to Stephen King’s new novel, Never Flinch, which comes out on 27th of this month. The story follows recurring character Holly Gibney, who also appeared in Mr. Mercedes (2014), Finders Keepers (2015), End of Watch (2016), The Outsider (2018), If It Bleeds (2020). It is two intertwined plots: one about a serial killer and one about a vigilante.

I am currently working with a book coach as a volunteer to enable them to achieve their certification and submitted the first book in my crime/mystery trilogy. Sorry, this is a tenuous link to the mystery month status, but heh, it works right? Have you written a mystery? Care to share a link?

As for the third, as authors we are only too happy to share our narratives, with readers, at author readings and on our website, and blogs. I do occasionally share a short story on this blog on my Tuesday slot for bibliophile’s collective.

As for the Latino authors, I will have to browse the virtual, and actual shelves to find a couple. Do you have any recommendations?
