BIBLIOPHILE’S COLLECTIVE TUESDAY – National Donate a Book Day

Today is National Donate a Book Day, which has the bibliophile's among us stressing about our precious collections. Should we keep, or donate from our shelves, or not?

I have mentioned before that I have a circle of friends who regularly swap books. These are books bought from bookstores, thrift stores, etc. Having the ability to share books and give a friend a review of it makes it special, as we know each others literary tastes and preferences.

As a precurer to today, I attended a literary event on Saturday held by the friends of my local library. It was a combination of fundraiser, book swap and prize draw. I donated fifteen books and came home with thirteen. These are the ones I picked from the huge selection available. It was a great way to support the library (registration was only $10) and gather lovely free books.

As you can see my choices are my usual eclectic mixture of genres. I'm looking forward to reading them. It adds to my reading challenge this year of 37 books. I'm three books ahead currently, which is great.

Where are you donating your books?

Do you have a favourite genre, or mix them up?
