It's taken a few days to come down from the 'high' of the When Words Collide conference this past weekend. It was a superb writers conference to say the least. The keynotes, sessions and panels were interesting, informative, inspiring and fun. You really need to be cloned to get to more!
Prior to this writers conference, I made a list of people I wanted to see and meet up with, I managed most of them, apart from a few and made some new writerly friends too. It really is the most inclusive and supportive event for everyone in the writing community, whether starting out as a writer, or a published author.
Although, one session was cancelled, I did manage to cram in a lot! A speed mingle, a keynote with Finnian Burnett, the book launch, a session on concept to script with Andrew Buckley, a naming panel, flash fiction session, which was my first foray into that style, rejection and submission, and dialogue versus inner thought.
My main events were the launch of the collaborative novel, Laurel Lake Lodge and reading a short paragraph with the other contributors. Inclusion of Willow Tree Tears in the BookTok bus and receiving my copy of the children's contest anthology I judged last year, In Places Between.

I know I should have taken so many more photos, but I was focused on conversations and catching up. I bought a couple of books, one for my pal, Linda and one for me (see above) which is really good!
Can't wait for next year. Thank you Alexandra Writers Centre Society.

It was great to see you and catch a few moments to chat!
Yes absolutely. I should be going back to the WGA Rooster evening next month. Hope to see you there.
