When we are considering buying a novel, our initial draw is the book cover. Many give a hint of the genre and storyline, then we turn to the blurb on the back. As readers, many of us also read the first sentences, or two of the narrative. I thought it would be fun to list the first sentences on several of my books. Let me know if they peak your curosity.

The Rython Kingdom - “He’s coming! He’s coming! Guillem Ruet is here!”
Rython Legacy (Prologue) - Juliana held her granddaughter in her arms; it was a bitter sweet moment. The child was a delight, but also her replacement.
Malgraf's Dawning - The dark eyed child sat huddled in the corner, tossing runes on the earth floor. She mumbled and whispered overheard words.

Life in Slake Patch - Jacob’s persistence to get me to look at an extraordinary book had gotten the better of my curiosity.
The Commodore's Gift - Owena’s scream of “Stop” was abruptly halted by her brother Benjamin’s, large rough hand over her mouth and another around her waist stopping her from lurching toward the window to see where the girl lay.
The Twesome Loop - Brett gave Dawn a wink as he passed her desk.
Willow Tree Tears - Madison rode toward the Calnash AG event Center’s rodeo ground entrance; her leather saddle creaked as she shifted to ensure Amber Fire's girth was tight.
