As many of us know 2026 is the year of the Fire Horse, whcih actually begins on 17th February. This allows us time in January to delve into what we want to accomplish this year, whether personally, or professionally. The Fire Horse characterises enthusiasm, creativity, and a drive for bold actions and calculated risks, but also a period of speed and decisive action, and where there is a compulsion to launch a project.

For writers and authors this might be the year that book is started, finished, or submitted. It is a time of professional breakthroughs, and creative projects finally finding their audience, along with excellent physical health, provided you don't rush headlong into things. Pace yourself and take care of your physical and mental health ensuring your stories radiate from your imagination.

This year brings the lucky colours of red, gold, and green, which are believed to amplify vitality and confidence. So, possibly look at incorportating them in your book covers. For me this is a sign that my spicy romance, Turkish Seduction should be published this year as it is set in Istanbul, Turkey. The modern flag is red, the Ottoman flag green, and of course they use numerous yellow spices. Maybe this is a start to that process?
