Abomination – definition: 1. anything greatly disliked or abhorred; 2. a vile, shameful, or detestable action, condition, habit

yeti

We have all heard of the Yeti or Abominable Snowman. Some people are even convinced they have seen one. There are even a few video’s and photograph’s purporting to ‘show’ these beings in the wild. However, the scientific community generally regards the Yeti as a legend, due to the lack of conclusive evidence.

These creatures are said to live in the Himalayan region of Nepal and Tibet. The locals call them Yeti or Meh-Teh and are part of local history and mythology. Unknown to Western culture until the 19th century, the parallel mythical creature, the Bigfoot is now the focus of a TV program; Finding Bigfoot on Animal Planet.

Maybe it is absurd to believe something so big could live in secrecy in the mountainous regions of the northern hemisphere, but we all love a mystery. After all legends must have some sort of truth in the depths of the stories – mustn’t they? Do you believe?

What is your favorite mythical creature?
